International Tourism Grants
Illinois is recognized as the 6th most popular state and Chicago is the 9th most visited U.S. city by overseas visitors. To further enhance the state’s position as a leading international tourism destination, the State of Illinois currently has public relations, advertising and trade programs in the UK and Germany.
Recognizing that Chicago is the destination driver for international traffic to Illinois, the Illinois Bureau of Tourism, Chicago Office of Tourism and Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau joined in June 2001 to create the Chicago/Illinois partnership. Joining together allows us to pool our resources and cast our international net further. The scope of work that our in-country representatives provide includes:
- Tour Operator Sales Calls
- Organization and Representation at Trade and Consumer Shows
- Brokering Trade Partnerships
- Consumer and Trade Fulfillment
- Destination Training
